Been a while and a lot of shit's happened....

Oh well my intention to use this blog as an MP3 site has thus far failed, due mainly to my lack, (scratch that, VOID) of technical knowledge. Nevermind, I have a plan but doing this shit as an MP3 blog may take longer then I thought....

Fortunately one of the weights in my life has now passed, this being the NYC marathon which was last Sunday. After a respectable pace I proper crumbled on the 18th mile, I was fucked and without my awesome mate AJ I would never have made it over the finish. We finally crossed the line at 5 hours 24 minutes, but our actual time was 5 hours 10. Not bad, could have been better but fuck, it is 26.2 miles....

So with that gone I will have more time, however this is likely to be gobbled up by my studies which are heating up, especially my lovely dissertation, fuck.....

Other than the marathon had some proper good times in NYC, in probably one of the most obscure moments in my life I somehow stumbled across the ex bass player of Irate in the gym in our hotel, HOW FUCKING WEIRD IS THAT????!!!! He spotted my everybody gets hurt shirt and from there we waxed about hXc, hXc and more hXc, damn cool guy.

Another t-shirt related incident happened in the Diesel shop near Bloomingdales, some very hot assitant spotted my Between the buried and me shirt (trust me peeps, I do have other clothes...) and exclaimed that she was a good friend of Tommy....you know what I'm thinking but fuck if you'd seen this girl!!!

Otherwise it was the usual holiday shit, shopping, walking, sight seeing, bitching (usually about the walking) etc etc, either way, its always a pleasure to be in NY.

Tonight L'Azzurri face the Dutch, I'm not feeling confident at all, especially as we lost Totti, Vieri and Peruzzi this week and its on their turf, fuck, I think we'll get smacked 3-1....

Music wise, I didnt pick much up in NY but had some good packages waiting for me once returning home, the particular delight was....COLD AS FUCKIN LIFE!!!!

Shit I've been looking for that CD for years and now its sold out already, shit I hope they press more for other people....either way, this CD is a serious classic, fuckin get it.

As well as that I've been listening to Since The Flood a lot, Morning Again, Turmoil, Statecraft, Everybody Gets Hurt, but not just brutal metallic hardcore, also DJ Shadow, Sigur Ros (saw them the day after I got back from NY), 65 Days of static (just ordered their new one), Lustmord etc etc

I've been getting loads of good shit to post to, some really obscure stuff but I'll keep stum until this MP3 is actually working...

Damn, this is a fuckin long post, well I'll sign off for now, I got to get down to work, that damn dissertation won't write itself....

The first of many, hopefully......

Well, well, well, looks like I've been bitten by the blog bug as well.

Firstly I have to acknowledge the likes of Andrew at Aversionline.com and Jonathan at an attitude exhumed for inspiring me to do this shit. Their blogs are always interesting and full of great music, I hope that this blog will be able to emulate what they have been doing thus far.

In regards to my blog, it will be using this to spread the knowledge of music that is palatable to my own personal (self proclaimed) eclectic musical persuasions. Initially my posts will centre around metalcore and hardcore from places other than the US. The point being to capture the worldwide hardcore craze that is currently occurring and to prove that hardcore and metalcore, despite their tarnished reputations are still valid musical entities.

Additionally I will try and future music from older periods, but being a mere pup (22), I don't have the good fortune to say that I have experienced any widespread musical revolution that was of any real genuine significance. I can't say I'm proud of experiencing the explosion of Nu-Metal in the late 90s and definitely don't hide the fact that I went to some of those shows and bought some of the records (C'mon, young impressionable 16 year old and Slipknot, lack of any real good metal in the mainstream, can I really be chastised for that shit!), thus you see my predicament, but I have learnt the error of my ways and expelled those awful records...Whether my taste has improved is something you'll have to judge yourselves.

Therefore, I will strive to include older music but I won't be able to relate to it in the same way as some of you more distinguished bloggers out there!!

Anyway, that's it for now, look out for my first blog coming soon.....
